Advertising Policy
(Based on the Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE Guidelines)
Introduction
JUTI: Jurnal Ilmiah Teknologi Informasi is committed to implementing ethical, transparent, and professional advertising practices in scholarly publishing. This policy defines the principles and procedures governing advertisements within JUTI to ensure that all promotional content aligns with the journal’s mission, maintains reader trust, and supports the integrity of its editorial work.
- Core Principles
- Editorial Independence – Advertisements shall not influence editorial judgments or compromise the quality and impartiality of published articles.
- Non-Endorsement – Acceptance of an advertisement does not indicate that JUTI or Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember endorses the products, services, or organizations featured.
- Ethical Compliance – All advertisements must adhere to relevant legal regulations and recognized scholarly publishing ethics.
- Advertising Approval Process
- All proposed advertising materials are reviewed and approved by the JUTI editorial board before publication.
- JUTI reserves the right to decline or request modifications for advertisements that are misleading, irrelevant, or inconsistent with its ethical or editorial policies.
- Approval decisions take into account the relevance to the journal’s thematic focus, factual accuracy, and potential impact on the credibility of the publication.
- Content and Disclosure Requirements
- Advertising must be visually and contextually distinguishable from editorial content.
- All claims presented must be accurate, verifiable, and supported by credible evidence or references.
- Misleading, deceptive, or unsubstantiated statements are strictly prohibited.
- Testimonials and endorsements must be authentic and based on actual experiences.
- Advertisements related to medical, pharmaceutical, or health-related products must comply with applicable regulations and ethical standards.
- Content must be free from discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate material.
- Placement and Presentation
- Advertisements will be placed in a manner that avoids any perception of editorial endorsement.
- JUTI determines the placement, size, and format of advertisements to ensure they do not disrupt readability or hinder access to scholarly content.
- In addition to in-journal placements, JUTI may publish promotional materials such as Call for Papers on its official website and selected academic community platforms, including the Typst Forum, to ensure effective outreach to its target audience.
- Transparency and Conflict of Interest
- All financial relationships, sponsorships, or potential conflicts of interest between advertisers and the journal, its editors, or its authors must be disclosed.
- Disclosures will be presented to readers in a clear and accessible manner.
- Review and Complaints
- Readers and stakeholders may submit feedback or complaints regarding advertising content that may violate ethical standards or mislead the audience.
- Reported concerns will be thoroughly reviewed, and necessary actions may include the withdrawal of advertisements, public clarification, or termination of advertising agreements.
- Policy Review
This policy will be periodically updated to ensure compliance with COPE recommendations, best practices in scholarly publishing, and institutional requirements of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember. Any revisions will be communicated to relevant stakeholders.
